Guided hiking tours of Queenstown
Routeburn - full day hike

It was originally used as access early Maori for hunting expeditions and also the collection of West Coast Pounamu or Jade. The hike takes in a leisurely walk of 6.5 km (4 miles) through native beech forest following the Routeburn River and emerging onto the Routeburn Flats, a beautiful mountain amphitheatre lunch stop set in alpine meadows. Sam Summers Hut – day hike
The start of this track is located 10 minutes' drive from Queenstown on the Glenorchy Road. A two and a half hour walk, requiring moderate fitness, through mainly forested country following the historic Twelve Mile Creek. The area was mined for gold between 1860 - 1930 and relics include a large sluiced canyon and tail race tunnel and an old miner's hut build by Bill Summers and later occupied by his son Sam. This walk offers superb views of Lake Wakatipu Lake Dispute.
Cost: $650.00 for a maximum of 4 people including refreshments
Skyline Adventure – half day or full day options
Take the gondola up to the Skyline complex on Bobs Peak overlooking Queenstown. From there you can enjoy a lovely guided walk up to the Ben Lomond Saddle or for the more adventurous, up to the top of Ben Lomond itself with its stunning views over the Wakatipu Basin.
To make the most of this day you may also want to try the award winning ZipTrek eco tour. This zip line or flying fox experience through the forest is a must do activity in Queenstown. If this were not enough, why not do a few runs on the luge.
Another option would be to transfer by helicopter to the Ben Lomond saddle and meet your guide and walk from there either up to the summit of Ben Lomond for the fitter ones or an easy walk back to the Skyline complex.
