The snow is for everyone! Not just skiers! Our non-ski tour option is ideal for those guests who are new to the snow. Perfect for photography buffs and nature enthusiasts alike or just for those guests who want a first hand experience with an alpine environment.

Your experienced local BLACK guide will meet with you on the evening prior to your tour to discuss the days events, assess your abilities and arrange any rental equipment you may require to make your day safe, comfortable and enjoyable. Snow shoes may be required depending on conditions. Anyone who can walk can snow shoe.

On the morning of your tour you will be collected from your hotel and driven in the comfort and safety of one of BLACKS luxury touring vehicles to one of our many local commercial mountain ranges.

Your guide will assist you to the summit via the skiers chairlift and will lead you across the ridge to a spectacular vantage point where you will enjoy a sumptuous picnic lunch complete with a glass of Central Otago Mulled Wine from the renowned Mt. Rosa winery.

Once you have had time to take in the breathtaking view your BLACK host will then guide you on a scenic hike around the surrounding area, ensuring that you are safe and comfortable in this unfamiliar alpine setting. You will also learn a lot about how snow forms and the different layers that can contribute to the formation of avalanches.

Your day concludes with a scenic decent, again on the skiers chairlift and luxury transfers back to your hotel or other specified destination.
